Stresa 1940. Mussolini’s speech, delivered from the balcony of Palazzo Venezia, containing the declaration of war, delivered to France and England, arrives unexpectedly on the shores of Lake Maggiore. The Carabinieri Marshal Luca Gatti finds himself, in spite of him as 5 years before, to conduct a difficult investigation, in search of a secret, which will decide the fate. Two murders, an attack and the attention of all the highest civil and military leaders of the fascist regime revolve around a young and charming girl: Adelaide. Italy is now a nation that is deeply divided within it. It will not be easy, despite the help of the trusted wait for Airoldi and his friend Don Piero, to find the solution to this intricate story. Luca will be forced, by events, to face choices that will put his conscience and love for Marta to a severe test.
